Brea Art Gallery

A few days ago, the City of Brea held an art exhibition over at the Civic Center. So many artisans were displayed at this exhibition. From contemporary photography to visual mixed media art. At this exhibition, these artist are MFA Students from Orange County, California. The following artist(s) are the ones who got my attention: Stephen Graham, Candice Chovanec, Mark X. Farina and Brian Johnson.

Stephen Graham

His work represents the initial response when you see an art work. The effect and feelings when you see first hand. He converts the feeling to a visual art form.

Candice Chovanec

Her work is simply amazing and remarkable. Capturing the true hidden natural beauty of one's self image. From a far stand point, her work looks photographic. But when you see the finer details, it is actually an arcrylic oil painting on canvas. Which really got my attention. Candice is one to look out for in the future. Hope she continues her art work of natural beauty.

Mark X. Farina

This artist made me laugh! He is like the Meme-ster for painting. I bet he had a lot of fun making this project. Not like Banksy, but he is like it playing it on the safe side. Like Duchamp's Urinal as he claims it is an art work. Or to Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Art Work. Mark is another talent to look out for.  But truly, this project represents raw expressionism. Utilizing elements from goo, punk and electric noise. His weapon of choice in making these art work are aerosol cans. No need for captions. Already in the art work.

Brian Johnson

I love his murals. Wish he could paint my room with his style of work.  He uses Sumi Ink for his art work and also a prop artist. When I saw his prop it made me reminisce the early 80s. Like the old rotating channel controls for actual television. The nostalgic period of Star Trek. Luckily William Shatners nemisis the Goron was not there. Lucky me! Haha! I really like his work. It hits home when you actually see it at the exhibit.

In his statement, he shifts and transforms space and environments so the viewers can recreate their own "real world." Which makes sense for me that when I was kid, I always used to pretend I was on a different planet or universe. Thus why it it hit home for me. Anyway, it was great to see his work in person. I do hope to see another installation made by him in the near future. The space images that you are about to see, it is called Space 44.

As a fellow artist, this really motivates me to do more work in my related point of interest. I love art and thinking of getting my Masters Degree in Arts.

Cyanotype Gum Bichromate

One of things that I love about art and photography. Is that you can mix and create new images that people have never seen and for the pure enjoyment of creating your own work. The following photos are done with a mix media. Cyanotype and Gum Bichromate.

2014 NYFA 2-Year Photography Conservatory Program Exhibition

This was at my end of the year photography thesis project, "Gesture." The smallest detail that most relationship tend to forget while together or not. In these image, what do you these portray to you?

Off Site Work

Through out this year, I have hit many roadblocks that is holding me back from becoming a known photographer. But that is just how life is. We have to adjust to make things happen. What slowed me down is the fact with all these updates, uploads, downloads and so on. It caused my computer to crash, plus my computer is old and is in need of upgrading. And that is another thing that slowed me down, the need to upgrade. I cannot upgrade since my job has cut my hours due to the change of seasons. So my source of income has plummeted, but I have invested in some small gadgetry to work on some photos and work on my images on the iPad, with the help of Snapseed. So without further a due, here are my recent work. These photos will be added to my portfolio in the near future.
